I came across another sweet article on SEOMoz today. The article gives big props to the online magazine NYMag.com for their incredible SEO success. Also, it gives some insight into how they have achieved their fantastic rankings.

The article has a little bit of something for (almost) all of us: layout, design, navigation, content, and SEO. Also, being that we work with a few online magazine entities, I thought this would be great reading material for all of us. Check it out!

Google is awesome
Check out the newest Google feature where you can call into Google and find a local business listing, and then Google will send that listing sent to your cell via SMS. AWESOME!!

Text link brokers... is it shady or standard?
I was doing some reading this morning on my favorite SEO blog, SEOMoz.org, and I came across a new section of their site, Tips and Tools. In this new area they had a tip on buying text links and how to make sure that you "stay under the radar". Now, don't get me wrong, I understand the value of buying text links. I understand that inbound links are highly regarded by the search engines, that all makes sense to me. However, the idea of buying text links from a broker seems pretty shady to me. The whole idea behind search and ranking is that you build Natural traffic by creating a well-written site and then marketing your site to an interested audience, right? Text linking pretty much goes against all of that. Link brokers essentially sell traffic and rankings. If we buy text links aren't we paying for our rankings? What's the difference between buying text links paying for clicks or submitting a site for paid inclusion? Aren't they all paid media? And if text linking is so readily accepted as standard in the search community , why are experts like SEOMoz trying to help us stay "under the radar?"
